Barnegat Light Beaches / Lifeguards 

Come visit our beautiful spacious beaches. Whether you’re a full-time or part-time resident, or here for a day or an extended visit, our beaches are waiting for you. For families with young children, come visit our guarded Bay Beach at 25th St. & Bayview – a great place for young children. Beach Badges are required on all Barnegat Light beaches for all beach patrons 12 years-old and over. Lifeguards are on duty daily from 10:00am until 5:00pm.

Basketball
A half court basketball court is located within the confines of the Pickle Ball courts.

Beach walks / Jetty Walks
Take a beach walk, walk the path through the dunes that the beach tram follows (this path stretches from 3rd to 15th), walk along the jetty that stretches out from Barnegat Lighthouse, watch the sunset from the Bay Beach (25th Street and Bayview Avenue), or at the Gazebo, located on the bay at the end of 8th Street and Bayview Avenue. Get out and enjoy the beauty that is Barnegat Light.

Concerts
Every Monday evening throughout the summer, the Borough sponsors concerts at the Bay Breeze Park Pavilion on Bayview Avenue between 6th and 7th Streets. Bring your blankets, chairs, and refreshment and sit outside while enjoying the music from local bands. The band schedule gets posted sometime in June.

Dog Park
The Dog Park is located between 9th and 10th street between Central and Bay View Avenue. Anyone utilizing the park must obtain a “Paw Pass”. Passes are free to Barnegat Light residents. Applications for the passes can be obtained at Borough Hall, the Beach Badge Booth (in season) or on the Borough website (Important Forms). Proof of rabies must be shown, either with a rabies certificate or a current dog license. There are a few simple rules that we ask you to follow when using the park; all dogs must be leashed when entering and leaving the park, you must clean up after your dog, and please, no hole digging. Also, all dogs must be accompanied by an adult, friendly & non-aggressive.

Fishing Charters: Below are two of the larger fishing charters found in Barnegat Light; however, you will find many smaller charters waiting for you to hire them for a fun day of fishing in the beautiful waters off Barnegat Light.

  • Fishing, Evening Sails, Sunset Sails, Ecology/Oceanography Sailings aboard the Miss Barnegat Light
    The Miss Barnegat Light has been in business in the Barnegat Light, NJ area since the 1950s. they are a family-run business – the current owner’s grandfather was the original owner. Miss Barnegat Light runs from May to December and is a popular activity option for tourists in the Barnegat Light, NJ area. Find them on Facebook as well.
  • Fishing Trips and Private Charters
    The Carolyn Ann III: The 85-foot Carolyn Ann was built in 1973 by Bill Hammarstrom locally in Waretown. The business has been family owned for over 50 years! In the wheelhouse, Captain Will has up to date technology that helps him finds the fish. But also, has over 40 years of experience fishing the water around Barnegat Light! The Carolyn Ann III welcomes fishermen of all levels aboard, from experts to first timers. The crew is always happy to help you get the fish. Find information on their Facebook page as well.

Jen’s Links Mini Golf
Come celebrate the beauty and history of Long Beach Island at Jen’s Links, LBI’s newest 36-hole miniature golf course. Nestled on the water just a long putt away from the historic Barnegat Lighthouse, come celebrate your events on the Links! Great for birthday parties, corporate outings or start a new family tradition.

LBI Shuttle: The shuttle covers all 18 miles of LBI on the Boulevard. Waive them down to hop onboard and get where you need to go. In Barnegat Light, the shuttle goes up Central to Broadway to the Lighthouse and returns via Bayview Avenue and past Viking Village. The shuttle runs during the summer season – 7 days/week from 10am to 10pm. After summer, the shuttle runs on weekends only (usually through Chowder Fest Weekend in early October). Be sure to check their website for any changes or updates and to download their app.

Parasail
LBI Parasail is located at Lighthouse Marina, right in Barnegat Light. Take Long Beach Blvd North into Barnegat Light and follow 6th St West towards the bay. They are located right in the middle of the marina. Look for their sign and blue ticket booth.

Pickleball
The pickle ball courts are public and can be used by anyone. ALL players must have a current Barnegat Light season beach badge. Court space is limited, so please be courteous if others are waiting to play.

Skateboard Park
The skate park is located on W. 10th Street, the hours of operation are 9:00 am until dusk. The park is for skateboards and in-line skates ONLY, no bicycles or scooters. All users MUST have protective equipment, this includes a helmet with a safety strap, knee pads and elbow pads. Anyone 10 years old and under must have an adult present.

Tennis
The tennis courts are public courts and can be used by anyone. ALL players must have a current Barnegat Light season beach badge. If you do not have a beach badge, the charge will be $10 per hour/per court. Reservations are recommended. Barnegat Light residents can make reservations two weeks in advance and all others one week in advance. Reservations must be made at the Beach Badge Booth located on West 11th St. All children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The courts are open 8:00AM until 6:00PM, seven days a week during the season. All players must check in at the Beach Badge Booth before play begins. Prior to the start of the season, Barnegat Light residents can sign-up for one court at a set day and time weekly during the season. Deadline to sign up for this reserved court for 2021 is: TBD.
